Collection: Partial builds

More partial build modules will be restocked at some point in the near future ...

Exactly what they say on the tin - these are modules which have had all of the surface-mount components pre-soldered by a PCB assembly service, leaving it up to you to provide the through-hole components (knobs, jacks etc.) in order to finish the job.

It's also a cheaper way to ship modules internationally as the boards will generally fit in a jiffy bag with appropriate reinforcement.

Assembly is easy, as it's generally pretty obvious which components go where.

Each listing will have a list of components which you'll require to complete the build - it's usually just pots, jacks and the occasional LED - all of which are easily obtainable from your parts pusher of choice.

Note that the price of a board is dictated by two major factors: first is the board area; a lot of fabs charge by the square inch. The second is the number of SMD parts required - whilst individual parts are generally cheap, on a densely populated board (eg. the AM5 or AMX3.2) the costs stack up pretty quickly even taking economies of scale into account.
