A three-terminal voltage regulator in a TO-92 package, providing a fixed 8V output and 100mA regulated output current. Note that this is not a low-dropout regulator - the input voltage must be at least 10V in order for the device to work; in nearly all of my modules this will be supplied from the 12V rail.
If you're used to using TO-220 regulators then take note of the pin order - it's reversed on the TO-92 devices.
If you're planning to build a SEQ8.2🔗, SEQ4.2🔗 or G8SEQ module then you'll need at least one of these per module.
