Eurorack dual manual gate PCB (6HP)
A manual gate/trigger module which uses the ever-reliable CD40106 hex inverter IC to create a pair of debounced manual gates. Whilst this is inevitably more complex than putting a switch or button between two wires it also results in a much cleaner signal which is free of a lot of the noise associated with button bounce (for an extremely in-depth overview, see: http://www.ganssle.com/debouncing.htm )
The output signal will remain high for as long as the appropriate button is pressed (ie. output is momentary, not latched) and the output voltage can be varied using the associated potentiometer - if you want to create a trigger signal then you can either stab the button very quickly or run the output through a gate-to-trigger converter (aka. a pulse shortener).
By default, the output can be varied between 0V and the supply voltage - if you'd prefer to limit the output then you can easily add a voltage regulator to the board (by default, the regulator footprint is bridged). If you want to trigger something once, or at indeterminate intervals, then this module will do the job for you.
